Ok. So this is just a simple little tutorial on how to play around with the coloring in photoshop. I’m using CS5.1 btw.
Just try all the functions and you’ll see what you can get. Most of the time I’m just hitting all the buttons and sometimes it turns out good… sometimes not. You’ll figure it out. :) Have fun.
1. go to file, open picture
2. Hue / Saturation (you can find it under adjustments

… if you can’t find it, click this little thing below ‘layers’
3. Gradiant Map (then click the 3rd option - which usually is black/white)
move the black square to 10%, and the white one to 95%.
4. under the layers tab now pick ‘luminosity’ and with 100% opacity
5. merge it all by right-click on ‘background’
6. zoom in on the eyes. now click the dodge tool
…now click on the eyes to lighten them… click it as much as you like, just don’t make the eyes white ;)
7. Now go to: FILTER > sharpen > smart sharpen
8. FILTER > noise > add noise
9. Vibrance (you can find it by clicking the button thingy again below the layers)
10. Gradiant map (this time click the purple/orange).
…click the tiny purple square and then click the bigger purple square where it says ‘color’
you’ll get this:
click ok and do the same with the orange color
then click either soft light or overlay (below the little tab where it says ‘layers’)… whatever you like more and change it to about 65%
11. Selective color:
12. Gradiant map - black/white
13. Curves
14. Brightness/Contrast
15. photo filter
… that’s about it. basically it’s nothing more but playing around with the adjustments.
